Last updated: 1 July 2026. This policy explains how Groomio, Wiener Straße 12, 10999 Berlin ("Groomio", "we") collects, uses and protects your personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). It also sets out our acceptable use and cookies policies.
Privacy policy
We are the controller for the personal data processed through Groomio. You can reach us at support@groomio.de.
What we collect.
- Information you give us: name, email, phone, address, pet details and photos, and booking history.
- Payment data processed by our payment provider (we do not store full card numbers).
- Information collected automatically: device and browser data, IP address and usage data, needed to run and secure the service.
How and why we use it (legal basis).
- To provide bookings, payments and accounts — performance of our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- To keep the platform secure and prevent fraud — our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- To send optional marketing — your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.
- To meet legal and tax obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
We never sell your personal data.
Who we share it with. We share data only as needed: with the Groomer performing your booking, with service providers who process data on our behalf (such as hosting, email and payments) under data processing agreements, and with authorities where legally required. We do not transfer data outside the EU/EEA without appropriate safeguards.
How long we keep it. We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. Inactive accounts may be deleted after a period of inactivity.
Security. We protect your data with encryption in transit (TLS), access controls and ongoing monitoring.
Your rights. Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, and to data portability, and to withdraw consent. Contact support@groomio.de to exercise them. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection supervisory authority (in Berlin: Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit).
